Carolina HR is proud to announce that Michelle Burnett has become a co-owner/Vice President.

Michelle joined CHR in 2016 after serving in Accounting/HR at CarePartners Health Services and Ingles Markets for approximately 10 years. During her tenure as a valuable member of the CHR team, Michelle has had multiple roles, Senior HR Specialist, Director of Administrative Services, and most recently, Director of HR. In her various roles, Michelle has worked in all areas of CHR’s HR services including payroll administration, benefits administration, and HR Management consulting.

As VP, Michelle will continue to supervise CHR’s HR Specialists and consult with CHR’s clients on HR management issues, and she will join Steve Murphy, President, in soliciting new clients and managing the financial health of the company. When asked about her new role, Steve said, “I’m so happy for Michelle, CHR, and our clients. Michelle has worked very hard to provide great leadership to our staff and excellent service to our clients. This is a well-deserved promotion and opportunity for Michelle.”

Outside of CHR, Michelle’s primary focus is her family. She and her husband, Chad, have 3 beautiful children, Jordyn, CJ, and William. Being a native of WNC, Michelle loves to show her family Asheville as she remembers it growing up. One of her family’s favorite activities is to explore the grounds of the Biltmore Estate and get swept away in the history of the area. Michelle is also a huge animal lover, so the remainder of her time is consumed with loving her 8 dogs (who are all completely spoiled).

Stephen H. Murphy, SPHR, is the president and founder of Carolina HR. He has been active in Human Resource management and consulting for over thirty years and brings his experience in a wide variety of HR situations to his clients.
